Chandigarh: Schools, Colleges to reopen from Feb 1
Chandigarh Colleges and Schools for Classes 10-12 to reopen from February 1.

Chandigarh is witnessing dip in daily cases of Covid-19. On Thursday, the authorities have announced to ease the restrictions and reopen the schools and colleges from February 1. In the statement, the authorities also gave some relaxations to gymnasiums, markets and activities at Sukhna Lake. It is to be noted that the resumption of offline lectures in schools are for students of classes 10 to 12 only. Earlier, the authorities had eased several Covid-19 curbs as the situation has improved in the city. This order would come into effect from tomorrow i.e, January 28, 2022 and stay in place till further orders.
The Guidelines
- The offline lectures will be resumed for students studying in classes 10 to 12.
- Students need to carry a consent from their parents/guardians in order to attend the physical classes.
- All Universities and Colleges will be allowed to reopen and function normally.
- Students in the age group of 15-18 years need to be vaccinated with at least 1 dose of the Covid-19 vaccine if they want to attend the physical classes.
- It is mandatory for all the students and officials in the age group 18 and above to be fully vaccinated.
- Coaching Institutes also are allowed to reopen and operate at 50% capacity with the rules for vaccination remaining the same.
