bhartiya janata party manifesto

Six days ahead of Bihar elections first phase BJP has announced its manifesto, and not only is it a strong one, but is also quite promising. Amongst the 12 page manifesto, the last page was dedicated to employment provisions in the state. While earlier Nitish Kumar promised to provide 10 lakh government jobs, he received some taunts from RJD chief Tejaswi Yadav, and now BJP has promised to provide employment to 19 lakh people, if they come in power. They have also promised to make 1 crore women self-independent. Another promise the manifesto made was to provide a free vaccine for Corona virus to the people of Bihar. Take a look at some other provisions in the manifesto.

Why the promise of employment is made, when only 4 lakh Government jobs are available?

In its manifesto, BJP has pointed at the possibility of providing employment to 19 lakh people, but there are only 4 lakh jobs available in a straight forward manner.

- BJP has committed that after coming in power, in the next one year they will appoint 3 lakh new teachers in schools, universities and other institutes. Schools will have a vacancy of 2lakh 75 thousand, while the admission process for 94 thousand posts have been going on since three years.

- Another promise made is that employment will be provided to 10 thousand doctors, 50 thousand para-medical staff and 1 lakh other positions will be recruited for in the health sector.

- This is how 3 lakh and 1 lakh opportunities straight forward form the possibility of 4 lakh government jobs.

- Other than this, in order to fulfill the 19 lakh employment promise, BJP has also shared its plans to make Bihar an IT hub in the next 5 years. And this will generate 5 lakh employment opportunities. Another promise is to develop the agricultural and medicinal plant supply chain that will generate 10 lakh employment opportunities.

- Also, BJP has promised to make 1 crore women self-independent through 50000 crores micro finance.

While RJD chief Tejaswi Yadav has said that one his government being formed, the very first decision he will sign on is of providing 10 lakh guaranteed government jobs. Taunting this claim Nitish Kumar commented that it is hilarious to know that RJD will provide 10 lakh government jobs. He also questioned as to where will they get so much money from for 10 lakh government jobs? Further adding to this, Nitish said, “It shouldn’t be the case that with the pretext of providing 10 lakh jobs, he starts his own business. How many jobs they have provided in the last 15 years we all know.”
