President-Elect Biden and Vice-President-Elect Kamala Harris to be sworn in come 20th morning
President-Elect Biden and Vice-President-Elect Kamala Harris will take their oaths on the West Front of the US Capitol for the 59th presidential inauguration.

Joe Biden is set
to be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States on 20 January.

On January 6, the
US Capitol Building was attacked by supporters of Donald Trump, after which the
ceremony will be held amid tight security. Strong security arrangements have
been made in Washington after this attack. Around 25,000 National Guard
soldiers have been deployed for security. The security has been tightened in
such a way that the whole of Washington has been transformed into a fort.
Outgoing
President Trump, who accused him of fraud in counting votes during the 2020 US
presidential election, would not attend his inauguration. According to reports,
Trump plans to leave Washington on the morning of Inauguration Day.
On Inauguration Day,
both the Vice-President and President-Elect will take oath in the afternoon,
which will be followed by the inaugural address. This year, in-person
attendance is limited to Congress due to security protocols. Biden will arrive
at the White House with a presidential escort, which includes representatives
from every branch of the military.
Earlier on
January 19, a good ceremony honoring American life has been organized due to
COVID-19. Following the inaugural address on January 20, President-Elect, First
Lady, Vice-President-Elect, and Second Gentleman will participate in the review
passed on the Eastern Front with members of the military.
Biden and Harris
would then go to the Arlington National Ceremony to garland the martyred
soldiers. The event will also be attended by former presidents Barack Obama and
Michelle Obama, former presidents George W. Bush and Laura Bush, and former
presidents Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton. A 'virtual parade' will
be displayed showcasing communities across the country.
The day will end
with the 90-minute prime time program of 'Celebrating America' hosted by Tom
Hanks, which also includes a conversation with Biden and Harris.
Performing on the
show will be Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, John Bon Jovi and Ant Kleman.
