The Union Cabinet is going through reshuffle. Several ministers have resigned and the reboot will be done today at 6 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mega cabinet is reshuffling. This is the first reshuffle in PM Modi's second term which will be announced today at 6 pm. According to top government sources, "the new cabinet will be the youngest ever in India's history". BJP leaders Sarbananda Sonowal, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Narayan Rane, all of whom are being seen as probables for induction as ministers in the Modi government, are at PM's residence.

Several ministers have resigned from the Union Cabinet including Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar. As per sources of NDTV, "it happened hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mega reshuffle". Health reasons were stated in the resignation letters of Mr Pokhriyal and Mr Gangwar.

"The average age will be the lowest ever after the revamp, there will be more women ministers and special representation will be given to those who have administrative experience", sources said.

PM Modi's government on Tuesday created a new 'Ministry of Cooperation', looking to provide more heft to the cooperative movement in the country. The Union Cabinet, which can have 81 members, presently has 53 ministers. Which means that 28 ministers can be added. PM Modi is making changes to his cabinet for the first time since his second term is started  in 2019.
