Afshin Ismail Ghaderzadeh has set the new record for being world’s shortest man; finds difficult to live a normal life

Afshin Ismail Ghaderzadeh, a 20 years old man from Iran is now the proud owner of the title of being the world’s shortest man. He has set the new record after breaking the one set by Edward “Nino” Hernandez, who was measured to be 2 feet 4 and a half inches tall.

The title was given to Afshin after he was measured 3 times in the Dubai office of Guinness World record. He is 2 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 6.5 kilograms. Though Afshin is enjoying the limelight of holding the record but he also suffers from numerous health problems that prohibits him from leading a normal life or perform everyday chores. He is severely weak physically which makes simple jobs like using a mobile phone as a problem. Though he is mentally fit but his physical challenges have always posed obstacles in gaining education as said by his family, he has recently learned how to sign his name, due to these difficulties he has never found any employment that suits him in his village. He also finds difficult to get clothes according to his height therefore he has to shop garments suitable for a 3 year old. Afshin recently became active in social media after opening an Instagram account under the name ‘@mohamadghaderzadeh_official’, he enjoys watching cartoon shows Tom and Jerry being his favourite cartoon characters. He has also expressed his wish of visiting the Bhurj Khalifa and stand on the top of it.

Craig Glenda, the editor- in- chief of Guinness world record has expressed his happiness over meeting Afshin and his family and wishes best for his future. 

Afshin and his family expect that all the publicity garnered due to the record might finally bring opportunities for him and help make his dreams come true.
