UPSC Releases CSE 2022 Mains Exam Schedule at Official Website, Check Now

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the exam schedule of the civil services mains examination in 2022. According to the notification released on the official website, the exams will begin on September 16 and will continue till September 25. Candidates who have cleared the prelims exam of civil services will be eligible to appear for the main examination. To check the schedule of the exams, candidates can visit the official website at upsc.gov.in.
The exam will be conducted in two shifts - morning and evening. The morning shift will begin from 9 am to 12 noon and the evening shift will be in place from 2 pm to 5 pm.

September 16: Paper 1, Essay
September 17: Paper 1 and 2, General Studies
September 18: Paper 3 and 4, General Studies
September 24: Indian language
September 25: Paper 1 and 2, Optional Subject

The pattern of the UPSC CSE Mains Examination
The UPSC CSE 2022 mains examination will be conducted in written format. There will be nine papers comprising conventional essay-type questions from subjects that are listed in the notification. Out of these, two papers will be for qualifying purposes. The total weightage of the mains test is 1750. Applicants who get the base passing marks in the written test will be then expected to show up for the interview round or personality test, the weightage of which is 275 marks. To calculate the final mark of the candidate marks scored in the compulsory papers of the written test (from paper-I to VII) and in the interview round will be counted.
