On Thursday, May 26, the German Ambassador to India and Bhutan, Walter J Lindner said that the European nation's government will recognize Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 vaccine for traveling from June 1. 

Sharing the information via his official Twitter handle, Lindner wrote, "Very happy that GER government just decided to recognize WHO-listed Covaxin for travels to GER, starting June 1! This Embassy has been pushing very actively for such decision (because of Covid-backlogs visa sections have longer waiting periods than normal, please have patience)."

The Emergency Use Listing status 

Last year, in November, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended Emergency Use Listing (EUL) status for Covaxin. Countries including Japan, Canada, Australia, and various others have allowed passengers jabbed with Covaxin.

The Emergency use authorization in India 

In April, Covaxin got approval by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for the administration of vaccines on an emergency use authorization to the age group of 6-12 years. 

In a statement, Bharat Biotech has said that phase ll / lll, open-label and multicenter studies have been already conducted for the evaluation of the safety, reactogenicity, and immunogenicity of Covaxin in healthy children and adolescents in the age group 02-18 years.
