Indian Railways announces to increase Tejas Express frequency from Mumbai-Ahmedabad
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express will run on normal frequency from April 12.

Indian Railways has announced to resume the operations of Tejas Express to the normal frequency on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route from April 12. Tejas Express is India's first private train to run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. From April 12, Tejas Express will become operational on Tuesday also, and every Thursday it will be a 'default weekly maintenance off'.
Train numbers 82902-82901 are operational 5 days a week since January 2022. The train has stoppages at commercial stations like Vadodra, Bharuch, Surat, Nadiad, Vapi, and Borivali in Mumbai. With a passenger capacity of 736 travelers, the train has 2 executive class chair cars of 56 seats each and 8 chair cars of 78 seats each.
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express started its first journey on January 19, 2020. The train has become operational with the purpose of providing comfort to business travelers. However, due to less occupancy, the operations of the train were halted after 3 months. The train has resumed its operations in October and again it was discontinued in November 2022 due to less occupancy.

The first-ever Tejas Express was launched by Indian Railways in October 2019 to connect Lucknow and Delhi. With modern facilities, this is India's first semi-high fully air-conditioned train operated by IRCTC.
