Mumbai Indians win by 6 wickets against Delhi Capitals. Green and David take the team across the line

Mumbai Indians defeat Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets on Tuesday, this is their 4th defeat in a row in IPL 2023. 

Rohit Sharma, the captain of Mumbai Indians led from the front by scoring a half century and bagged the player of the match award for his 65 runs in 45 balls. He along with Ishan Kishan had a good start worth 71 runs but Ishan Kishan got run out for 31.

There was a little drama in the middle when Tilak Verma got out at 41 of 29 and Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed at 0 off1 along with it Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Rohit and brought DC back into the game.Tim David (13 not out) and Cameron Green (17 not out) stuck till the end and helped their team win the match.

Earlier Delhi skipper David Warner scored 51 runs and Axar Patel scored 54 runs which helped their team to set a target of 171 runs. Piyush Chawla got 3/22 and Jason Behrendorff got 3/23 for Mumbai Indians. The latter picked the wickets in the penultimate over which helped the team to choke DC.

After this win Mumbai Indians collected their first 2 points this season after suffering defeats from Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings. For DC the path to playoffs has become more difficult and now they need a miracle to help them reach in the top four positions. The Capitals have lost a game against LSG by 50 runs in Hyderabad followed by a 6 wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans and a 57 runs defeat against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati which has led them to the bottom of the table.
