India Gets First Ever Gold in Men's Skeet as Mairaj Ahmed Khan Wins
Indian shooter Mairaj Ahmed Khan wins India's first ever gold medal in Men's Skeet Championship. Indian Women's Skeet team defeats Austrian champions.

On Monday, Veteran Indian shooter Mairaj Ahmed Khan made history by winning the country's very first ISSF World Cup gold medal in men's skeet. In the 40-shot final, the 46-year-old from Uttar Pradesh shot 37 to complete before Korea's Minsu Kim (36) and Britain's Ben Llewellin (26), who won the silver and bronze separately. The shooter shot 119/125 north of two days of qualifying prior to following through in a five-manner shoot-off En route to his lady individual gold.

Mairaj won Silver in 2016
The double cross Olympian, who is the most established individual from the Indian contingent in Changwon this year, had won a silver at the 2016 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro. Prior to the day, the triplet of Anjum Moudgil, Ashi Chouksey, and Sift Kaur Samra won bronze in the ladies' 50m rifle 3P group occasion.

Indian Women's Skeet Team wins against Austrian
The Indians defeated the Austrian group of Sheileen Waibel, Nadine Ungerank, and Rebecca Koeck 16-6 in the bronze decoration match to easily get a platform finish. Vijayveer shot 584 in meeting all requirements to complete 6th while Anish shot 582 for the twelfth spot and Sameer 566 for the 30th position.
