CWG 2022: India Gets 20th Gold as Lakshya Sen Wins Men's Single Badminton
India's star shuttler Lakshya Sen won a gold medal for India in Men's Single Badminton championship after defeating Malaysia's Ng Tze Yong.

On Day 11 of the ongoing Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 at Birmingham, India's star shuttler Lakshya Sen won a gold medal for India in Men's Single Badminton championship. This is India's 20th gold medal at CWG 2022. In order to win the finals of the Men's Single Badminton championship, Lakshya defeated Malaysia's Ng Tze Yong.
His success came just after PV Sindhu won the gold medal in the Women's Single Badminton championship. This was Sindhu's third singles CWG medal having prior won a bronze at 2014 Glasgow and a silver at 2018 Gold Coast.

Lakshya Sen is World's 10th Best Badminton Player
Lakshya was given a bye in the round of 64 conflicts prior to settling against Vernon Smeed of Saint Helena, Ascension, and Tristan da Cunha. The Indian raged to a 21-4, 21-5 to begin his mission.
In the round of 16 conflicts, Lakshya confronted Australia's Ying Xiang Lin and proceeded with his super hot structure for an easy 21-9, 21-16 success. Then in the quarterfinals, he forgot about the test of Mauritia's Georges Paul. The Indian player won 21-12, and 21-11 to enter the semi-finals round.
The world No 10 Sen, making his CWG debut, the confronted Jason Teh of Singapore in the last-four phase. He appeared to have become lost after an overwhelming beginning against Jia yet recuperated so as to finish a 21-10, 18-21, 21-16 win.

In 2021, Lakshya won a Bronze medal
In the final men's singles semi-final, Sen was extended by his Singaporean rival. He depended on determined assault to put his Singaporean rival on the backfoot and he had the option to do that in the main game.
A shoulder injury in the number one spot up to the CWG in Birmingham hampered Lakshya's performance as he missed two or three events. Lakshya won the bronze medal at the 2021 world championships and he is a former highest-ranked junior shuttler.
