BCCI Announces Indian Squad Against West Indies, Rohit Sharma To Lead The Team

On Thursday, July 14, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the names of players for the upcoming five-match T20I series against the West Indies. 

Since Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are not in the squad, the team will be led by Rohit Sharma. The match will be starting on July 29 to be played by India and West Indies in Tarouba, Trinidad. 

Along with Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umran Malik, and Jasprit Bumrah are also excluded from the squad. However, KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Kuldeep Yadav are back on the team. For the upcoming T20I series against West Indies, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Shreyas Iyer will be there in the Indian squad.

India vs West Indies T20I

As per a report by Cricket Addictor, the first match of the T20I series between India and the West Indies will be played in Tarouba, Trinidad on July 29. However, the second and third matches will take place on August 1 and 2 respectively in Basseterre. The fourth and fifth match of the series between the countries will be played on August 6 and 7 respectively in Florida, the USA.

Rohit Sharma (Captain), I Kishan, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, D Hooda, S Iyer, D Karthik, R Pant, H Pandya, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, R Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, B Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh. 


Inclusion of KL Rahul & Kuldeep Yadav is subject to fitness, said the BCCI.
