World Cancer Day-Aim to Save Millions
World Cancer Day was first inaugurated on 4th February,2000 at the World Summit Against Cancer for the New Millennium held in Paris.

World Cancer Day is the crucial day to raise the awareness of cancer disease about the detection, prevention and treatment of the cancer among patients suffering with it and impart the correct information about the disease for the betterment of the life.
World Cancer Day 2021: Historical Facts
World Cancer Day was first inaugurated on 4th February,2000 at the World Summit Against Cancer for the New Millennium held in Paris, which was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008.
This day celebrates the anniversary of the signing of the ‘Charter of Paris Against Cancer’ by the General Director of UNESCO, Kōichirō Matsuura and the French President Jacques Chirac.
This day works to join the international community and the global citizens and survivors to support cancer patients and to take action against this disease and make the world “Free from Cancer”
The primary goal of World Cancer Day website, is to target on minimising the death occurs prematurely from cancer and other non-communicable diseases by 1/3 by 2030 to achieve a healthier and brighter world.
Common Types of Cancer
Different cancers in India are found to be most common types which includes breast, lung, cervical, oral, stomach and colorectal cancer, making it crucial to offer people with the correct information and advices from healthcare on time.
Common Prevention Measures
Regardless age, one should take some safety actions to lower any risk of cancer. Some of the common factors include:

Monthly self-breast examination.
Baseline mammogram.
MRI breast if BRCA mutation-positive.
Clinical breast examination by doctor ones a year.
Baseline PSA at 45 years of age if a family history of prostate cancer.
X-ray chest/ USG whole abdomen in a year.
CBC/ LFT/ KFT/ Lipid Profile annually.
If, existence of lump occurs in any part of the body, check-up is must to get the accurate result.

The remarkable theme “I am and I will” for The world cancer day was started in 2019 and will last this year, celebrated on 4th February of every year to promote that each person will play important role to fight against cancer.
The theme focus on “our enduring power of cooperation and collective action. When we choose to come together, we can achieve what we call wish for: A healthier, brighter world without cancer.
