Uproar over photo of Shahrukh-PAK actress

Pakistan's ace actress Mahira Khan doesn’t mind fangirling over Bollywood's King Khan Shah Rukh. While both the megastars have shared the screen in what was Mahira's Bollywood debut in 2017, the 37-year-old is still smitten with the Don actor's charisma and made it super clear on multiple occasions.  

Recently, she did a question-and-answer session on Twitter during which her curious fans questioned her about many things ranging from her personal to professional lives. One of the Twitter users asked her that which scene will she love to do ‘again and again’ with SRK.

To answer this, she shared a picture alongside the Dilwale actor and simply said, “This”. The Bin Roye diva was recently seen interacting with her millions of fans on Twitter. Upon asking about a scene that the Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay actress would like to recreate with the My Name Is Khan star, Khan cited a still from the song Zalima from the blockbuster film Raees.

The still featured both the Raees co-stars pretty close to each other's faces as they looked into each other's eyes.

However, the picture led to backlash among some social media users. One said: “This is inappropriate and unacceptable. You have a million followers and what the heck are you promoting?” Another said: “Work in Pakistani movies… we in India don’t want you to spoil our movies.” A third commented: “All Pakistani people hyping her reply, as if it’s some achievement, are equally cringe.

“So low and no class at all being a woman herself and seeking attention like this.” This isn’t the first time Mahira Khan has been criticised for openly speaking about Shah Rukh Khan. In an interview in June 2022, the star was asked to compare how working with Fahad Mustafa was different to her experience with Shah Rukh Khan. 

Fans were open in their criticism of Mahira’s “fan-girl” moment. A YouTube comment stated: “I know SRK is a legend but Mahira is overrated… She doesn’t know how to respect the team she is in. “She gets a Bollywood movie and she doesn’t know how to answer…

Despite being a prominent actress in Pakistan, Mahira believes her biggest achievement is working with Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.
