Omicron Variant: Mutated variant of Covid-19 arrives, Know its symptoms
A mutated version of Covid-19 has found as Omicron variant in South Africa. Read more to know its symptoms.

The new variant of corona virus has been found in South Africa as Omicron variant. The South African doctor says that a patient infected with the Omicron variant experiences very mild symptoms and can be treated at home. Dr. Angelique Coetzee, president of the South African Medical Association, said that seven patients had come to her clinic, whose symptoms were different from the delta variant and were 'extremely mild'. The doctor told that on November 18, patients had come to him, who had complaints like body ache and headache.
Travel bans on Africa
The WHO has warned against countries imposing travel restrictions hastily, saying they should take a "risk-based and scientific approach". However, in recent days several restrictions have been placed on the version amid concerns. Amidst the fear of the mutated version many countries have imposed travel ban on passengers traveling from South Africa.
'Common viral fever-like symptoms'
Dr. Coetzee said that its symptoms were similar to normal viral fever. Actually, there was no corona case here in 8 to 10 weeks, so we did the test, in which its report came positive. On the same day some more patients came to him with the same symptoms. Since then, 2 to 3 patients with similar symptoms are coming to him.
No need to be hospitalized
Dr. Coetzee is the same doctor who first identified the Omicron variant. He has also been included in the government's advisory committee on vaccines. He told that the patients who are coming now have very mild symptoms and they do not need to be admitted to the hospital. Such patients can be treated at home. They also reported that the patient infected with Omicron, unlike the Delta variant, neither smelled nor tested positive, nor did his oxygen level drop.
