Migraine: the modern day evil, read to know more about it's Causes and symptoms
Many people in today's world are effected by Migraine, but what IS IT ? and what causes it, we are here to tell you...

The scientific reason for migraine is the spread of blood vessels of the patient's head, and then the secretion of certain chemicals in it. These chemicals are released due to the pressure exerted by nerve fibers. Actually, when an artery or blood vessel spreads during a headache, it puts pressure on the nerve fibers. This pressure causes chemical releases, causing swelling, pain, and dilation in the blood vessels. In this condition the patient has a very severe headache.
What are the Causes ?
Allergies, tension, strong light, strong aroma, loud sound, smoke, no sleep schedule, fasting, alcohol, irregular periods, birth control pills, hormonal changes, in addition to some foods like fish, peanuts, citrus fruits and pickles.
How to identify if it is a simple headache or migraine headache?
Migraine headaches are identified with 'aura'. Aura is a visual disturbance, in which the patient intermittently sees bright light, crooked lines, dark spots in front of the eyes, prickles in the skin and weakness. Apart from this, nausea, vomiting, low BP, light and noise problems are other symptoms of migraine. Dark circles under the eyes, anger, irritability, etc can also be symptoms of migraine. Migraine can be predicted by recognizing one or more of these symptoms. But keep in mind that the same symptoms can also be caused by some other disease.
More troublesome for women
It is true that 7-8 out of 10 migraine patients are women. Migraine pain intensifies in women. There are several reasons for this, such as hormonal change. Pre-menstrual migraine due to hormonal changes during periods is very common. During this, there is intense pain for 4-5 days. All these things promote migraine.
Prevention : -
- Avoid sharp changes in temperature. For example, do not leave the AC in extreme heat or do not drink very cold water after coming from high heat.
- Avoid direct sunlight if you are going out, take an umbrella and wear sun glasses and then leave.
- Do a minimum amount of travel during the summer season.
- Stay in a cool place (AC) to avoid heat and humidity.
- Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, otherwise dehydration can occur. Dehydration is the major common cause of migraine. Hence avoid dehydration. Chances of migraine will be less if there is water in the body.
- In the rainy season, when the humidity is very high, one should avoid eating and drinking things that cause excessive sweating, such as tea-coffee etc.
