History of Teddy Day
Teddy day is celebrated by gifting cuddly teddy bears which symbolizes the love/relationship between two individuals. As per the belief, former US President Theodore ‘Teddy’ Roosevelt is behind the name Teddy. Once, Roosevelt denied to shoot a bear who was trapped by his assistants. Morris Michtom, a candy store owner in Brooklyn, New York, got inspired from this, and dedicated a stuffed toy bear to the then president, and named it Teddy’s Bear.
