Devotees also believe that there will be no shortage of money if you worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on the day of Diwali.

Puja Vidhi of the festival
Devotees initiate the puja by taking a Sankalp (vow) of puja. Then, devotees worship Lord Kuber, along with Lord Ganesha, Maa Lakshmi, Maa Saraswati on the day of Diwali. A rosary of Om Shri Shri Namah mantra is chanted 11 times. A single coconut or 11 Kamalgatte are kept at the worshipping place. The Shree Yantra is also worshipped and devotees place it in the north direction. Recitation of Goddess Suktam on this day is believed to bear fruits of happiness and prosperity.
