It has been a year now that the world has been combating the novel Corona Virus, and while it brought normal life to a standstill across the globe, in India too Covid-19’s impact has been huge. And while the cases continue to rise, only to our disappointment, Russia has given a new ray of hope. Recently, once again figures have been rising rapidly in several states in India, in fact, the second wave of Corona is also being said to have hit China and Italy. If we look at the figures in India 87.28 people have been infected with Corona, out of which 1.28 lakh people have died due to the virus.
For some time scientists around the world have been working on the vaccine for this deadly virus, however, no attempt has been successful so far. And despite many hopes breaking several times, a new ray of hope has been born with Russia announcing a successful vaccine for Covid called Sputnik V. Yes, the human trials for this vaccine have been successful in Russia. While sharing information about this vaccine Russian President Putin announced that the vaccine is totally safe and effective and its trial has happened on his daughter too.
No one believed Putin at the beginning and no country was even ready to take this vaccine. Even WHO didn’t give approval to the vaccine, stating that they were not informed about it beforehand. Despite a strong friendship with Russia, India was not ready to trust this vaccine, like the other countries. But after 3 vaccine human trials being unsuccessful in India, the country finally decided to get the Sputnik V vaccine from Russia. Now, the first consignment of the vaccine has reached India, a video about the same is going viral on the internet. In the video, we see how a big container is being transferred from one place to another. As per reports, the vaccine is being sent for human trials to the popular pharma company Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. The second and third phase of trials for this vaccine will happen in India, and it will be done at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. According to Russia, with the initial results, this vaccine against Covid-19 is 92 percent effective.
Vaccine Sputnik V
Amidst the mounting cases of Corona, Russia made this relieving announcement stating that Sputnik V is a safe and effective vaccination, with a success rate of 92 percent. President Putin shared information about this vaccine on his Twitter handle, stating that the trials for this vaccine have been successful in Russia and now it is being dispensed to the people in the country. And its results are quite satisfactory. Sharing details about this vaccine, Putin also stated that a trial was conducted on his daughter too and she is completely safe and healthy.
Pharma company Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories
The second and third phase of the trial for the vaccine Sputnik V will happen at the Indian medicine company Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. According to reports, this trial will be conducted on 100 volunteers. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories also known as Dr. Reddy’s was established in 1984 by Dr. Anji Reddy. Before establishing this company Dr. Anji Reddy worked with the Indian Government’s Indian Drug and Pharmaceuticals Limited. Lots of medicines made by Dr. Reddy are sold in the country and even outside the country. The company deals with inventing and selling more than 190 medicines, 60 ingredients used to make medicines, and even testing equipment.
Vaccine Sputnik V - a new ray of hope
It has almost been a year since the outbreak of this pandemic in the world, and instead of its impact reducing, the cases for the Corona Virus have only been mounting. Even in India, the second wave of Covid-19 has begun. In fact, it is once again terrorizing several states, especially Delhi. Every day on an average 7-8 thousand cases of Covid are being detected. While the second wave is said to be deadlier, with this vaccine it is hoped that it might give some relief to the people. Covid-19 has affected the country’s condition in many ways.
If Russia’s president is to be believed, then this vaccine is very safe and effective and it has positive results. Well, we will only have to wait and watch, if Vladimir Putin’s claim is true or not. Till then stay tuned!
