World’s Youngest Author Saeed Rashed AlMheiri is just 4 years old

Age is just a number. 4 years 218 days year old Saeed Rashed AlMheiri from Abu Dhabi UAE, proved this fact by gaining the title of world’s youngest author.

His work was not only verified but also certified by the Guiness Book of World Records on 9 March 2023. Surprisingly the little author has written a children’s book “The Elephant Saeed and the Bear”. Already 1,000 copies of has book had been sold.

Saeed explained the plot of his work as follows: “It is about the elephant Saeed and a polar bear. The elephant had a picnic and he saw a polar bear. He thought the bear was going to eat him but, in the end, the elephant showed kindness and said ‘let’s have a picnic together’! Then they became friends and showed kindness to each other.”

However Saeed is not the only record breaker in the family as his older sister AlDhabi is his real inspiration. AlDhabi first held the record title for the world’s youngest person to author a bilingual book (female). After a year, she broke the record for youngest person to publish a bilingual book series (female) at the age of 8 years and 239 days old.

AlDhabi has also launched a unique initiative by the name Books from Children to Children. The goal of this initiative is to encourage children aged between 4-10 to write either in Arabic or in English. Also in this initiative all the writer, the illustrator, the publisher, and also the readers of a book are all children!

Saeed said: “I love my sister…... I wrote my book [inspired by her] as I felt that I could have my own book too. The drawing was tricky and the polar bear looked scary at first, but it’s always fun to draw.” Saeed learned writing with the guidance of his mother and sister.

On being asked about his achievement Saeed said “I’m happy and proud that I did something nice like my sister AlDhabi! ....... I would love to have another record and I believe I can do it” Thus the little author had begun working on a second book”.

Their proud parents commented: “AlDhabi is an inspirational young lady and Saeed followed her footsteps. He is the proof that everybody is born with a talent and that talent cannot be known unless they discover it by trying things out.”
