Weather Update: Relief from Heatwave, Delhi receives Hailstorm and Rainfall
The IMD has issued yellow alert in the morning while warning about dust storm and hail storm.

On Wednesday afternoon, parts of Delhi received hail storms and rainfall which proved to provide relief from the sweltering heat in the city. Rainfall followed by hailstorms and strong winds was reported by people in Rohini, Pitampura, and Paschim Vihar at around 2 pm.
In the morning, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert to warn of the dust storm, thunderstorms, or hail storms with strong winds speeding up to 50 kilometers per hour in Delhi. The alert was later updated to orange color.

Warning Codes of Met Department
To issue the warnings of different categories, the Met department uses four-color codes - Green means no action needed, Yellow means watch and stay updated, Orange is issued to stay prepared, and red is issued when no action is needed.
As per the forecast by the weather agency, the maximum and minimum temperatures in the national capital are expected to hover around 38 degrees Celsius and 28.8 degrees Celsius respectively.

The IMD has predicted a cloudy sky over the national capital due to a western disturbance affecting northwest India. For the next five to six days, the mercury is likely to rise by four to five notches.
