Weather Update: IMD Issues Warning For Heavy Rainfall In These States

On Wednesday, the national capital woke up to a humid and warm morning with the minimum temperature reaching two notches above the normal at 29.4 degrees Celsius. In the forecast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, "there will generally be a cloudy sky with the possibility of light rain during the day." 

As per the weather forecast agency, at 8:30 am, the relative humidity was recorded at 74 percent and for the day there was a possibility for the maximum temperature to reach 37 degrees Celsius. However, on Tuesday, the maximum temperature in the city settled at 37.9 degrees celsius.

Heavy Rain Lashes Mumbai 

On Wednesday morning, the nation's financial capital Mumbai woke up to heavy rainfall with many areas reporting issues of waterlogging. On Tuesday, many areas of the city were immersed in water due to excessive rainfall making it difficult for the residents to go out of their houses. 


In the weather forecast, the IMD has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Mumbai with a possibility of very heavy showers in isolated areas till Friday, July 08.

Possibility of Heavy Showers in these areas 

In the weather forecast, the IMD said, "Fairly widespread/ widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha during the next 5 days." 

Further, it said, "isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over Gujarat region on 06th, 07th, and 09th; Saurashtra and Kutch during 05th -08th; Konkan and Goa and Central Maharashtra on 09th; Coastal Karnataka on 05th and 06th; South Interior Karnataka on 05th; and Odisha on 05th and 09th July 2022."
