UK elections 2022 results declared: Liz Truss is new Prime Minister
The new Prime Minister of the UK by the Conservative Party of Britain on 5 September this year.

Mrs Liz Truss, the former foreign secretary was elected as the new Prime Minister of UK by the Bretain’s conservative party on 5 th of September this year. She defeated her rival Rishi Sunak, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer by securing 57.4 % of the total votes.
The result that is declared this
Monday was much before predicted while Mrs Truss was leading the poll. 47 year
old Truss became the third female leader and fourth and the fourth Prime
Minister in recent six years. She would substitute the position of former Prime
Minister Boris Johnson who resignation in July was the result of his massive
scandals.
Truss will get the formal declaration
of her new position on Tuesday in a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II at
Scotland’s Balmoral Castle where the queen has gone for a vacation.
Huge economic crisis is waiting for
Truss as troubles like alarming collapse, labour unrest, fuel scarcity and
increasing household energy bills are prevailing in Britain right now.
Out of eight participating candidates
Truss came up with the idea of tax cuts and smaller government. As per some
economists this could either help a little in solving the economic crisis or
could degenerate it.
Truss and Sunak had been shortlisted
among the participants and Sunak could have became the first non white Prime
Minister of Bretain but his opposition to the cutting the taxes displeased the
1,60,000 voting members out of 67
million citizens who had cast the vote which is considered as the reason behind
his defeat.
Truss stated her strategy in a brief
speech after her victory, “I will deliver bold plan to cut taxes and grow our
economy. I will deliver on the energy crisis, dealing with the long with
people’s energy bills but also dealing with the long term issues we have on
energy supply”.
42 year Mr. Sunak had thanked all of
his supporters who considered him suitable to be the Prime Minister and voted
for him.
