Pakistan’s 23rd Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in an interview with Dubai based Al Arabiya TV has called for ‘serious and sincere talks’ with PM Modi over ‘burning issues like Kashmir’.

Pakistan’s 23rd Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in an interview with Dubai based Al Arabiya TV has called for ‘serious and sincere talks’ with PM Modi over ‘burning issues like Kashmir’. Pakistan PM has claimed that Pakistan has learnt its lesson after three wars against India and now its high time that peace is established between both the nations.

Shehbaz Sharif said, “My message to the Indian leadership and Prime Minister Modi is that let’s sit down on the table and have serious and sincere talks to resolve our burning points like Kashmir. It is up to us to live peacefully and make progress or quarrel with each other and waste time and resources”. 

Sharif also stated that the wars have only brought poverty, unemployment and misery to people. He also stated that though both the countries are not neighbors by choice but they are going to be forever hence the countries need to find ways to live peacefully. He also raised the issue of Kashmir and wants to discuss about it as well.

He said that both the countries have engineers, doctors and skilled laborers and both the countries should work towards bring prosperity and peace towards their countries.

“Pakistan does not want to waste resources on bombs and ammunition. We are nuclear powers, armed to the teeth, and if god forbid, a war breaks out, who will live to tell what happened?” he said.

One of the spokesperson of the Pakistan Prime Minister’s office stated that the PM is ready to talk over the issues with India but it’s only going to happen after India had reversed its illegal action taken on August 5th 2019 and after that negotiations can take place. Settlement will happen according to UN resolutions and with the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
