Karnataka: Terrible Bus accident kills 8 and 25 injured
After preliminary investigation, the police told that the accident happened due to the driver losing control of the bus.
On Saturday, almost eight people killed and around 25 people got seriously injured in the major accident when a bus overturned near Pavagada in Tumakuru district, Karnataka. Some students are also there among the passengers. The incident has been confirmed by Tumkur police.
"Eight died and more than 20 were critically injured, including students, after a bus overturned near Pavagada in Tumkur district", reported ANI quoting Tumkur Police.
Police reached on the spot
On receiving information about the accident, the police reached the spot, after preliminary investigation, told that the accident happened due to the driver losing control of the bus. There were about 60 passengers on the bus. Police officials said that out of the injured passengers, 8 have been admitted to the hospital in a serious condition. Some students are also among the dead and injured.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu expresses grief
Expressing grief over the incident, Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu took to his official twitter handle and wrote, "Deeply anguished to hear about the loss of lives in a bus accident in Tumkur, Karnataka. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured."
