Amid a series of targeted killings in Jammu and Kashmir by terrorists, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the border state on October 23 and 24 to review the security situation.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Jammu and Kashmir on October 23 and 24 to assess the security situation, following a string of targeted killings by terrorists in the border state. During his two-day visit to the border state, Shah will meet with L-G Manoj Sinha and officials from the Central Armed Police Forces.
Amit Shah will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir for the first time since the state was divided into two Union Territories and Article 370 was repealed.
Meanwhile, Army Chief General MM Naravane is in Jammu and Kashmir on a two-day visit.
Over the previous few days, a rash of civilian killings in Kashmir has occurred, with militants shooting dead non-local laborers. Terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir have killed 11 individuals, including five persons from other states, according to data. Over the previous week, security personnel has increased anti-terror operations, killing more than a dozen terrorists.
In a meeting with state police and central armed police forces commanders earlier on Monday, Amit Shah reviewed several security challenges, including the recent massacre of civilians in Jammu & Kashmir. The National Security Strategies Conference's conclusion session was chaired by Shah at the Intelligence Bureau's (IB) headquarters in New Delhi, and the discussions were extensive and thorough.
The overall security situation in the country, as well as different law and order issues, including the recent episodes of targeted killings of civilians in Kashmir, were discussed in the meeting, according to official sources.
