Egypt’s president is the chief guest of India’s Republic Day 2023 celebrations.
Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of Egypt is the chief guest of India’s Republic Day 2023, over the years many dignitaries and world leaders have graced the event and this is the first time that an Egyptian President has received the invite.

El-Sisi
has arrived in India on January 24th and will have a ceremonial
welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on 25th January and President
Droupadi Murmu is going to host a state Banquet in his honour. Sisi will have a
meeting with Prime Minister Modi where they will discuss about various global
matters, healthcare, environmental matters etc. PM Modi and El-Sisi held the
discussions at Hyderabad house in New Delhi.
India’s
relations with Egypt go way back and this is highly important as well. Since
the 1980’s 4 Prime Ministers have visited Egypt, Egypt has been one of the most
important trading partners in the African continent, the bilateral trade has
increased by 5 times in the past 10 years.
The leaders also discussed on terrorism and called for ‘zero tolerance
to terrorism’.
PM Modi stated, “we have decided that under India-Egypt- strategic partnership we will develop a long-term framework for more comprehensive cooperation in political, security, economic and scientific fields.”
