A video of a woman being assaulted and forcefully pushed inside a car in Delhi is going viral on social media. In the 18 second video it can be seen that two men are dragging a girl and then forcibly pushing her in a taxi.

A video of a woman being assaulted and forcefully pushed inside a car in Delhi is going viral on social media. In the 18 second video it can be seen that two men are dragging a girl and then forcibly pushing her in a taxi, the taxi had a Haryana registration number.

The viral video was from Mangolpuri in North West Delhi, it showed that a man was hitting a woman and pushing her in a cab while another man who was accompanying him watched it. The man who was assaulting her was punching her repeatedly inside the cab while another man watches. No one including the cab driver try to help the woman.

As the video went viral Delhi Police took cognizance and started probing the matter. Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Harender Kumar Singh stated that they have traced the driver and also the vehicle that can be seen in the video. The DCP said that, “the car was booked through Uber from Rohini to Vikaspuri by two boys and a girl. On the way they had an altercation and scuffle.”

A police team has been sent to the registered address of the cab’s owner in Haryana’s Gurugram. The cab was last seen around IIFCO Chowk in Gurugram at 11.30pm on Saturday according to a CCTV footage accessed by the police.

Deputy Commissioner of police (outer) stated that “since the matter got heated, the driver asked them to get out of the taxi.” After finding the group police has recorded their statements and “The woman’s statement was recorded with a counsellor and medical assistance is being provided,” Singh added. Further action will be taken based upon the woman’s statement.
