Naseeruddin Shah uses Filmfare awards as door handles for his wash room.
Naseeruddin Shah admitted that he doesn't not take those awards seriously and so they are less important to him.
In an interview when asked about awards ,the famous actor Naseeruddin Shah admitted that he uses his Filmfare awards as door handles in the washroom of his farmhouse .He said,"I don't find any value in those awards.
Naseeruddin Shah is one of the most popular actors of the Bollywood film industry.He has won several awards for his achievements over the years. He admitted that he doesn't not take those awards seriously and so they are less important to him.
He stated he cannot tolerate those awards and does not find any true value in them. He has won three National Awards for his work in Paar, Sparsh and Iqbaal. He won three Filmfare Awards also for his performances in Akrosh, Chakra and Masoom. He said that awards are less important to him as according to him awards are the result of lobbying in the industry.
The actor laughed and added, "Any actor who has put their life and effort into portraying a role is a good actor. If you just pick one person from the lot and say that ‘this is the best actor of the year’, how’s it fair?"
He was not proud of those awards. He did not even go to collect the last two awards he received. So, when he built a farmhouse he decided to put these awards there. Whoever goes to the washroom will get two awards each as the handles are made of the Filmfare awards.
He confessed that he was happy when he received the first award of his life. Later he understood that these awards are a result of lobbying. One is achieving these awards not because of their merit. So he started leaving them behind.
When he received Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, it reminded him of his dead father who used to worry about his job and said, ‘if you do this useless work, you will become a fool’. So, when he went to Rashtrapati Bhavan to collect the awards, he looked up and asked his dad if he was seeing all this…He said ," He was… and I am sure he was happy… I was happy to receive those awards. But I can’t stand these competitive awards."
