EXCLUSIVE: Shehzad Deol feels ‘DISAPPOINTED’ about being eliminated from Bigg Boss 14, calls it “unfair”

Bigg Boss is one of the biggest shows on Indian television and every year when the show is on air, it registers the highest number of TRPs. Other than that, all the contestants who are a part of the show tend to gain immense popularity and they also become a household name. This year too the housemates looked promising enough to win our hearts, however, some unexpected twists on the show led to some of them falling to ill-fate and getting eliminated in the initial weeks on the show. And after Sara Gurpal, the latest contestant who is out of the house is Shezad Deol. 

This 25-year-old Punjabi model from Ludhiana was being loved a lot by audiences and was equally hated by his co-contestants, who cashed on the opportunity to eliminate him from the house when they got a chance. After his eviction, Shehzad got into an exclusive conversation with Instafeed sharing how he was disappointed with his eviction and how the decision was unfair. Shehzad it is shocking to see you eliminated so soon, you were being liked so much. How does it feel getting eliminated from Bigg Boss?

You are right, even I am feeling very disappointed. And I feel worse for all those who showered so much love on me, it was just 2 weeks for me in the house and I was being liked so much. I was a very new face for the people and nobody knew me. Since I have been on 2 shows earlier, so I had around 25-30 thousand followers, but after Bigg Boss, my fan following has increased to 1 lakh 30 thousand and this happened in just 2 weeks. Now, wherever I am going people are stopping and either asking or telling me that what happened with me on Bigg Boss was unfair and that they will stop watching the show. Seeing all of this I only feel that what happened shouldn’t have happened. 

Did you see the elimination coming from beforehand?

I was understanding the game at every stage, there has never been in house voting in the Bigg Boss house, still this time it happened. I received 2 votes while the other two got 4 each, and we were made to do a tie and I was forced to get involved in it. I was not even allowed to perform the task and that was more shocking for me. See the history of Bigg Boss, whoever is the winner has two options either to get saved by audience voting or through some task. But both these opportunities were snatched from me.  

A lot of questions have been raised on the ‘ab scene paltega’ format of this season. Where do you think is the flaw or what’s gone wrong?

I wouldn’t want to comment on the show’s format. We have just stepped out of the lockdown situation right now and everyone wants to make the show a hit. For that, if you are bringing previous season winners as seniors, there is nothing wrong with it. Right now, nothing is happening, films are also not being made. So in that case they are trying everything possible to make the show a hit. And so the seniors were brought in to push the show, I have no problem with that. I have a problem with the show’s backbone changing, that is public voting.  

How was the experience of being in quarantine the corona period? How was everything with Bigg Boss then?

I came out of one lockdown and went into another, there I learnt all that which I hadn’t earlier. Cleaning the house, washing utensils, chopping vegetables, I learnt all this. Now, no matter how many lockdowns happen, I can stay alone. 

Since you have spent a decent amount of time in the house, who according to you is fake and who is real in the Bigg Boss 14 house?

Jasmin (Bhasin) is the best, she is most genuine of all. She is exactly like me. Her genuineness will take her a long way in the house. The show is about real personalities and it is they who win. Other than Jasmin rest all are fake. Leaving Rubina, Abhinav, and Jasmin all other housemates are fake. Also, till the time seniors were there everyone was scared, that if they did anything wrong and the power goes in the seniors’ hands there will be trouble.  

If you get a chance to go back to the Bigg Boss house, who would you replace?

If I get a chance, I would like to remove Jaan Kumar Sanu. If we look at public voting he had received the least number of votes, nobody likes him. 

After Shehzad and Sara, the contestants in the house are Pavitra Punia, Nikki Tamboli, Jasmin Bhasin, Rubina Dilaik, Jaan Kumar Sanu, Abhinav Shukla, Ejaz Khan, Rahul Vaidya, Nishant Singh Malkani. And four wild-card contestants are said to enter the Bigg Boss house soon, they are, Naina Singh, Rashmi Gupta, Shardul Pandit, and Pratik Sehajpal. Stay tuned!
