Fuel prices hike for the 7th time, Petrol crosses Rs. 100 mark in Delhi

The common man is not getting relief from inflation. Government oil companies have again increased the prices of petrol and diesel today i.e. on March 29. Oil prices had increased on Monday as well. On Tuesday, the price of petrol has increased by 80-85 paise per liter and diesel by 70-75 paise per liter. It is the 7th time in the last 8 days that fuel prices are increasing continuously. After the recent hike, petrol gets costlier by about Rs 5 per liter. In the country's capital Delhi, petrol has reached Rs 100.21 per liter and diesel is retailing at Rs 91.47 per liter. 

7th increase in 8 days 

Petrol price on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, was hiked by 80 paise a liter and diesel by 70 paise, taking the total increase in rates in the last one week to Rs 4.80 per liter. Petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs. 100.21 per liter as against Rs. 99.41 previously while diesel rates have gone up from Rs. 90.77 per liter to Rs. 91.47, according to a price notification of state fuel retailers. In Mumbai, the prices of petrol and diesel were hiked by 85 paise and 75 paise respectively. This means people will have to pay Rs. 115.04 for petrol and Rs. 99.25 for diesel. 


As per a price notification of state fuel retailers, rates have been increased across the country and vary from state to state. This is the seventh increase in prices since the ending of a four-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on March 22. Overall, petrol prices are increased by Rs 4 .80 per liter and diesel prices are hiked by Rs 4.80 per liter. 

Petrol and diesel prices in different cities 

Delhi: Petrol is costing Rs 100.21 per liter and diesel is selling at Rs 91.47 per liter. 

Mumbai: Petrol is priced at Rs 115.04 per liter and diesel is costing Rs 99.25 per liter. 

Noida: Petrol is selling at Rs 100.28 per liter and diesel is retailing at Rs 91.82 per liter.

Lucknow: Petrol is retailing at Rs 100.06 per liter and diesel is selling at Rs 91.62 per liter. 

Chennai: Petrol is priced at Rs 105.94 per liter and diesel is costing Rs 96 per liter. 

Kolkata: Petrol is selling at Rs 109.68 per liter and diesel is priced at Rs 94.62 per liter.
