On Thursday, April 14, the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and domestic piped natural gas (PNG) are increased by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL). After a regular increase in prices of fuel and diesel by Rs. 10 for one liter, the rates of LPG cylinders were hiked by Rs. 50 per cylinder. Now the price hike in CNG and PNG will make it more difficult for the common man of the country to live peacefully.

CNG-PNG Latest Rates 

The IGL has announced to increase in the prices of PNG by Rs. 4.25 per standard cubic meter (SCM). With effect from Thursday, April 14, the PNG will be selling at  Rs. 45.86 per unit in Delhi and in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad it will retail at Rs. 45.96 per unit. 

Besides PNG, the prices of CNG are also increased by Rs. 2.50 per kg. After the recent hike, the CNG will retail at Rs. 71.61 per kg in Delhi, in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad it will sell at Rs. 74.17 per kg, and in Gurugram the customers will have to pay Rs. 79.94 per kg. 

Notification by IGL 

As notified by IGL through a late-night notification, the new rates will come into effect from April 14, 2022, onwards. As per the official statement, the company has increased the prices in order to cover the hike in input gas costs. 

On April 1, the prices of CNG were raised by 80 paise per kg, and PNG rates were hiked by Rs. 5.85 per cubic meter (16.5 percent).
