Vacation season is going on and during this season most of us plan to spend our vacations in the lap of nature far away from the hustle-bustle of the city. However, due to large gatherings, visitors in Ladakh are facing hardships to get accommodation in high-altitude areas. 

Keeping the comfort of the visitors in view, the Ladakh authorities have issued an advisory for visitors. The advisory reads, "Pangong Lake area is wildlife notified sanctuary and hence accommodation availability is limited. Considering the limited accommodation available, tourists/visitors should avoid plans of stay at Pangong without prior booking of accommodation."

The Pangong Lake 

Located at an altitude of 4,350 meters, the Pangong Lake in Ladakh is the world's highest saltwater water body. 

Further, the advisory reads, "Tourists/visitors are advised to travel to Ladakh by road/air with proper pre-booking (through registered travel agents/tour operators). of accommodation...Tourists/visitors are advised to not travel to high altitude areas such as Khardongla, Changla, Pangong Lake, Tsomoriri, Penzela, etc before 48 hours from the time of landing/arrival at Leh." 

The authorities encourage the visitors to make all vacation plans preceding their approach to Ladakh. This is to keep away from issues connected with the inaccessibility of facilities.
