Amidst the global vaccination drive against Covid-19, countries have initiated to ease travel restrictions on passengers coming in their borders from outside, subject to certain conditions. Recently, Spain and the UAE have announced to allow certain categories of travelers from India to enter their jurisdictions.

The UAE

The government of UAE has announced that the country will lift the ban on entry of passengers from India and five other countries from August 5 onwards. Moreover, the relaxation will be valid only for passengers with a valid residency visa and a fully vaccinated certificate with the final dose being taken at least 14 days prior to travel. Additionally, the UAE has also lifted restrictions on flyers travelling to other borders.

A sigh of relief

The easing rules have come as a huge relief for those traveling to destinations such as the US or the UK. Especially students are eagerly waiting to join the commencing fall semester at universities there. Due to lack of flights to the US and Europe from the UAE for Indian passengers and a restriction by the US on number of flights it was very inconvenient for the students to travel there.

Spain

India is added to the list of countries from where tourists will be allowed in Spain. However, it is mandatory for the travelers that they have got fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to travel. Authorities in Spain said, "only those travelers will be allowed who have been inoculated with a vaccine approved by the WHO or the European Medicines Agency. While this includes Serum Institute of India’s Covishield, it does not include Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin yet."
