Have you ever wondered about a trip that would cover each and every continent of the globe? A duo of travelling enthusiasts from India not only imagined but successfully travelled to to all seven continents in just 3 days!
Well this Indian duo comprising Dr. Ali Irani and Sujoy Kumar Mitra created a world record by doing so! Precisely they took 3 days, 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 4 seconds to cover all the continents. The previous record was set by Dr Khawla AlRomaithi of the UAE, in February 2020, and his travel time was recorded as 3 days, 14 hours, 46 minutes, and 48 seconds.
Both the men believe that every record is meant to be broken. In a statement to the Guinness World Records, the duo stated "Today we might be successful in breaking a record, but tomorrow someone else will break our record”. The record book reportedly shared the same on its website. Dr. Ali has also posted the Guinness World Record certificate on his Instagram profile.
The duo while narrating the tale of their sharing their trip mentioned that they set off on their journey on December 4 from Antarctica and visited all seven continents -Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, Antarctica, and Oceania and managed to beat the previous record by nearly 13 hours. They record-breaking journey finally ended in Melbourne, on December 7, 2022.
Considering their success, Dr. Irani stated that “it was a great pleasure and privilege to create a world record by doing something that both of us are so greatly passionate about, and I am humbled by this accomplishment”. This incredible achievement is undoubtedly worthy of all praises and would be remembered by the entire nation.
