Odisha government has banned the celebration of world famous Mahaprabhu Jagannath ji at Jagannath Dham Puri this year. Apart from Puri, Mahaprabhu's Rath Yatra will not be taken out at any other place in the state. Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena gave this information on Thursday. Keeping in mind the situation of Corona, the government has taken this decision keeping in mind the safety of the common people.

Odisha's Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep K Jena said, "This year also, Puri Rath Yatra will be taken out along with Covid-19 protocols . Devotees will not be involved in this, only servants will remain. The guidelines of the Supreme Court will be followed for taking out the yatra last year. He also told that only the servants who have got corona negative report and vaccinated will be able to participate."

Only those sevaks will be allowed to participate in the Rath Yatra, who have received two doses of vaccine 48 hours before the Rath Yatra or have RTPCR report. The Special Relief Commissioner has said that "like last year, this year also Rath Yatra will be taken out in Puri amid restrictions." "This year also curfew will be imposed in Puri during the Rath Yatra. Bus and train movement to Puri will be stopped", he added.

Rituals will be held in the temple premises

The Special Relief Commissioner has said that Rath Yatra will not be taken out in all other temples of the state, but permission has been given to perform rituals. Rituals can be performed in the temple premises. However, there will be no activity outside the temple. The Special Relief Commissioner has said that in the same way, the information and public relations department of the state government will be responsible for the live telecast of Puri Rath Yatra. He has said that other channels will be able to take feeds from the Information and Public Relations Department. They do not need to arrange for the live broadcast themselves. Similarly, arrangements will be made for the painting of Rath Yatra after discussing with the district administration. Significantly, the world famous Rath Yatra of Mahaprabhu Jagannath is on 12th July.
