IRCTC announces to start Shri Ramayana Yatra Train from Madurai
IRCTC will be commencing Shri Ramayana Yatra Train from Madurai on November 16.

Under the initiative ‘Dekho Apna Desh’, the Indian Railways has announced to commence the ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ for devotees across India. On November 7, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has commenced Shri Ramayana Yatra train for its first 17-day tour from New Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station with 120 passengers. The Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared on twitter, "Overwhelming response! First tour of ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ with 100% occupancy started today. Next tour on the Ramayana circuit is on 12th Dec 2021. Jai Shri Ram!"
In a statement, IRCTC said, "IRCTC will be operating Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Madurai with its budget-segment train comprising of sleeper class coaches." The next train for 13 nights / 14 days from Madurai is set to depart on November 16.
The train includes destinations as Hampi, Nasik, Chitrakut Dham, Varanasi, Gaya, Sitamarhi, Janakpur (Nepal), Ayodhya, Nandigram, Prayagraj, Shringaverpur. The cost of the package is set to be at Rs 14,490 per head.
