On Wednesday, in a fresh order, Director General of Civil Aviation said that scheduled international commercial flights to and from India will remain suspended till February 28. Flights under air bubble arrangements will not be affected, the DGCA said. The move has been announced as the cases of Covid-19 are increasing in the country.

In November 2021, the Centre announced to resume scheduled international flight operations from December 15. With the rising cases of Omicron the plan was postponed and the government decided to resume scheduled international flights days before January 15.

Scheduled international flights were suspended in India from March 23, 2020, however, then a nationwide lockdown was imposed in the country. The suspension has to be extended every month except allowing emergency international travel under the air bubble agreements.
