Delhi-Varanasi Bullet Train to Operate with 18 Trips Daily

After the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor, Delhi-Varanasi high-speed rail corridor is India’s second bullet train project. The 958-kilometer high-speed rail corridor will be operated via 12 stoppages between Varanasi and Delhi, with a 123-kilometer distance linking Lucknow and Ayodhya.
Apart from the conduction of survey, the route feasibility test for the project has also been almost completed. The construction of stations between Delhi and Varanasi is ongoing. According to the reports, in order to ensure the safety, elevated tracks will be constructed on the Delhi-Varanasi bullet train route. Moreover, there is a plan to construct underground stations in various areas. For the bullet train, there will be separate tracks and special stations will be built. Ayodhya and Agra will also be connected through a high-speed rail network soon.
To facilitate the movement of the passengers, there is a plan to build a bullet train station near Jewar. The bullet train route between Delhi and Varanasi will have a total of 12 stations, according to reports.
The bullet train will perform 18 trips every day between Delhi and Varanasi. There will be 63 trips between Delhi and Agra, 43 to Lucknow and 11 between Delhi and Ayodhya. As per the reports, the cost of this high-speed rail project is over Rs 2.3 lakh crore.
