Delhi Metro Gates To Remain Closed For Independence Day Rehearsal

For the Independence Day celebrations, various gates at four Delhi Metro stations were closed down until 11 AM on Saturday, as indicated by the DMRC.

In view of the dress rehearsal for the Independence Day celebrations, various gates at four Delhi Metro stations were closed down until 11 AM on Saturday, as indicated by the DMRC. The Delhi Metro stations include ITO, Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, and Delhi Gate. Furthermore, DMRC cautioned that because of severe security for Independence Day, metro station security checks might take more time than expected. 

The DMRC shares information via Twitter 

On Friday, the DMRC informed that stoppages won't be accessible at its stations from 6 AM on Sunday till 2 PM on August 15 considering the safety efforts embraced at the event of Independence Day. 

"Security Update, Due to Independence Day dress rehearsal, the following gates are closed till 1100 hrs

At ITO gate no 1, 2 & 3 are closed, At Lalquila gate no 4 is closed, At Jama Masjid gate no 3 & 4 are closed, At Delhi Gate gate no 1, 4 & 5 are closed," the DMRC tweeted.

The Delhi Police issues Traffic Warning 

In any case, it had expressed that normal Metro rail services will be operational. Presently, DMRC is responsible for running and keeping up with the almost 390-kilometer rail route, which has 286 metro stations. These stations include Rapid Metro for Gurugram and Aqua Line in Greater Noida.

In light of the Delhi Police's traffic warning, eight streets Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, SP Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Nishad Raj Marg, Esplanade Road and its connection street to Netaji Subhash Marg, Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT and Outer Ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover will stay shut for general traffic.
