Delhi Govt to offer free trip to Ayodhya for Senior Citizens
The Delhi government has approved to include Ayodhya in the free pilgrimage scheme.

Recently, the Delhi Government has approved to include Ayodhya in the free pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens. The free pilgrimage scheme for the senior citizens is named as Tirth Yatra Yojana. The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made the announcement to include Ayodhya during a press conference.
The Delhi CM said, "Now Ayodhya has also been included in Delhi Govt's Tirth Yatra Yojana; to be free of cost for the aged people. They can also bring a member/kin along". Further, the Chief Minister said, "the Teerth/Tirth yatra for the senior citizens which remained halted due to Covid-19, will likely be resumed within a month, as the situation normalize gradually."
According to the reports, the Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana was launched by the Delhi Government in 2018, to offer free travel packages to senior citizens of Delhi. In the scheme, the whole expenditure of the trip is dealt by the government for places like Pameshwaram, Jagannath Puri, Mathura, Shirdi, Tirupati, Haridwar, among others. The scheme also offers meals, accommodation, and insurance for all the senior citizens who become a part of it.
