BEST to Launch Ho-Ho Bus Services to Promote Maharashtra State Tourism
Ho-Ho bus services will soon be launched in Maharashtra to promote tourism.
The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) is set to launch hop on, hop off (Ho-Ho) bus services soon in order to promote tourism in the city. With this, tourists will be able to pick their choice of sites, get down and explore, and hop on the subsequent bus for the next stop. However, they would need a ticket for the entire trip.
On Tuesday, the proposal was long-pending which will come into effect very soon as cleared by the BEST Committee. The services are likely to "start very soon", BEST Spokesperson Manoj Varade told IANS. Varade said, "Ho-Ho Mumbai Tourism would be drastically different from the regular city tourist buses of private players. In Ho-Ho, the tourists can get off at any spot en route, go around as much as they want and hop onto the next destination, on the same ticket."
Tourists will be able to book the tickets and their seats online. The bus will have stoppages at several halting points, and travelers can opt to either spend time, or they can just travel past the sites. Travelers would need to buy only one ticket for the complete trip in the AC electric buses.
