Airlines to run domestic flights at 100% capacity
Indian government has allowed the airlines to operate their domestic flights at 100% capacity.

With the improving condition of Covid-19 pandemic in the country and seeing the growth of domestic air travel in the country, the Indian Government has announced to restart the scheduled domestic air operations in the country without any capacity restrictions from the said date. With effect from October 18, domestic airlines will be able to operate at 100% of their capacity.
As per the official statement, "After review of the current status of Scheduled Domestic Operations viz-a-viz passenger demand for air travel in terms of the purpose specified in the initial order dated May 21, 2020...it has been decided to restore the scheduled domestic air operations with effect from 18-10-2021 without any capacity restriction."
Further, the statement added, "The airlines airport operators shall however ensure that the guidelines to contain the spread of Covid-19 are strictly adhered to and Covid-19 appropriate behavior is strictly enforced by them during the travel."
The move has come to provide the much-needed relief to airlines who have been demanding removal of these restrictions on capacity, as well as capping on air fares. As per reports, domestic air travel in India has made rapid strides with dipping virus infections, increased consumer confidence, and curiosity to explore domestic destinations in the absence of many options for outbound travel.
