Two times Olympic medalist Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar has been arrested for a murder case last week. Sushil Kumar has won a bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics.

Recently a video has gone viral in which wrestler Sushil Kumar and his friends have been seen attacking another wrestler.

The latter has been beaten brutally who died due to severe injuries. The victim has been identified as Sagar Dhankar, 23. He was injured by Sushil and his friends severely.

According to police, Sushil Kumar and his friends thrashed Mr Dhankar and his two friends on May 4 at Delhi's Chhatrasal Stadium. All three had to be hospitalised. Mr Dhankar later died of his injuries.

"Sushil had asked (his friend) Prince to make that video. He and his associates thrashed the victims like animals. He wanted to establish his fear in the wrestling community," the police told a court last week.

The police have said Sushil Kumar and his friends thrashed a wrestler to prove their dominance in the local wrestling circuit.

The video of Sushil Kumar and his friends assaulting the wrestler was made to be shared in the local wrestling circuit and prove their dominance, the police have said.

Sushil Kumar approached a court on May 18, in Delhi's Rohini court seeking protection from arrest. He claimed that the probe against him was biased and that no injuries caused to the victim were attributable to him.

The court, however, dismissed his anticipatory bail plea, saying he was "prima facie the main conspirator" and allegations against him were serious in nature.
