On Thursday, India's ace javelin thrower Annu Rani qualified for the final of Women's Javelin Throw.  She finished 5th in her group (B) with the best throw of 59.60m in the afternoon session on day 6 of the world athletics championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, USA. 

In the qualifiers, Japan's Haruka Kitaguchi completed with the season's best throw of 64.32m which was followed by China's Shiying Liu with her best throw of 63.86m and Lithuania's Liveta Jasiunaite completed the round with her best throw of 63.80m. Among all 12 qualifiers for finals, India's Annu Rani stands at 8th position.

Annu started with a foul throw 

Annu Rani is a 29-year-old athletics player who created a national record in Jamshedpur in May with her best throw of 63.82m. As reported by TOI, "Annu was on the verge of ending her campaign after starting with a foul throw and 55.35m in her second try but sent her spear to 40cm short of 60m in her third and final attempt on the fifth day of competitions.

India's Women's Javelin Throw Players 

In the 5000m Women's Javelin throw, India's Parul Chaudhury failed to succeed as she completed the seventeenth in Heat 2 with a timing of 15.54.03s. However, Rani made up for the loss with her best performance as she scaled the 59/60 mark on her 0.33 throw to complete fifth in her group and 8th overall. 

Rani has her personal best of 15:36.03s set in Doha in 2019 and a season-exceptional of 15:39.77s over this distance set in April in advance of this year. Ethiopia’s Letesenbet Gidey crowned the qualification with the timing of 14:52.27s followed by Kazakistan’s Caroline Kipkirui (14:52.54s), Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay (14:52.64s).
