West Indian cricketer Andre Russell suffers Head Injury, rushed to hospital
West Indian all rounder cricketer Andre Russell suffers head injury while batting in a Pakistan Super League match on Friday.

Andre Russell is an all rounder star in West Indies cricket team. While batting for Quetta Gladiators, a ball from Islamabad United's bowler Mohammad Musa hit him on the head. Despite of the fact that he was injured he kept playing for the team. It was Islamabad United's first over of the innings when Russell has been taken to the hospital.
Andre Russell's injury happened during the 14th over of Quetta Gladiators' innings. Russell had earlier hit 2 successive sixes before he missed the bouncer ball thrown by Mohammed Musa.
After initial medical tests on the field, he was allowed to carry on but was dismissed on the next ball. Russell got out after scoring 13 runs. He was taken off the field on a stretcher. Later he was taken to the hospital. After this, Quetta Gladiators inducted fast bowler Naseem Shah in place of Russell under the Concussion Substitute Rule.
Concussion substitute rules allow a player to be replaced by another member of the team if the match referee considers him a 'like-for-like' substitute. The match referee approved Naseem to replace Russell. Because Russell had already batted. In the second innings, he could contribute only with bowling. Quetta Gladiators had to face defeat in this match. New Zealand opener Colin Manro scored 90 runs in 36 balls as Islamabad United won the match by 10 wickets. Quetta Gladiators was all out for 133.
