India's boxing champion Lovlina Borgohain reaches semi-finals. Victory with bronze medal is confirmed.

India's Boxing champion Lovlina Borgohain has created history by entering the semi-finals in the 69 kg Olympics event of boxing match in Tokyo. Lovlina Borgohain is the first female player from India to win a medal in the 69 kg event category. Lovlina also has a chance to win the first gold medal in boxing for India. But to get the gold medal, Lovlina Borgohain will have to win two more matches at the Tokyo Olympics. 

Which medal Lovlina Borgohain will get is not yet decided, but with this victory at least one bronze medal has been confirmed. In the quarterfinal match, Lovlina defeated Nien Chin Chen of China by 4-1. In which Lovlina didn't make it in the first round, but in Round 16, she defeated 35-year-old German boxer Nedine Apetz by 3-2. Now Lovlina will be facing Turkey's Anna Lysenko in the semi-finals. 25-year-old Anna Lysenko is the 2019 World Champion. In this match, the best competition will be seen between both the players. 

In the history of Olympics, only two female boxers have won medals from India. Lovlina Borgohain has been a bronze medal winner twice in the World Championships and once in the Asian Championships. Prior to Lovlina, female boxer MC Mary Kom won the bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
