Tokyo Olympics: Indian Men's Hockey team loses semi-final
Indian Men's Hockey team has lost by 2-5 in the semi final match against Belgium.

Indian men’s hockey team has lost the qualifying match for the gold medal against Belgium by 2-5 in the semifinals. In the first quarter India was taking the lead and the match remained tied till the end of the third quarter. However, in the third quarter Alexander Hendrickx scored twice and JJ Dominique Dohemen added the fifth in the fourth quarter to make Belgium to the finals.
In the first quarter of the match, the Indian team took the lead by scoring two goals against a Belgian goal, but after that the Belgian team did not give a chance. Belgium got 14 penalty corners in the entire match.
The second quarter of the semi-final match was also very exciting. In this both the teams got penalty corners. India got their fifth penalty corner in the third quarter of the game, although the team could not convert it into a goal. Belgium got a penalty stroke in the fourth quarter of the match and Hendrix scored another goal. With this goal, Belgium took a 5-2 lead over India.
Belgium had a great start in the first semi-final of the men's section. In the second minute, Loick Luypaert scored from a penalty corner to give Belgium a 1-0 lead. After this the Indian team made a comeback. Harmanpreet Singh scored a penalty corner in the 7th minute to level the score 1-1. Mandeep Singh scored in the 8th minute to take India 2-1. Belgium once again made a comeback in the second quarter. Alexander Hendrix scored from a corner in the 19th minute to level the score 2-2. The score was tied at 2-2 till half time.
