India will be facing Namibia for the last match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai. This will be India's last match of the tournament, while it will also be India's last T20 match under the leadership of Virat Kohli. Earlier, Virat Kohli announced that he would step down from the T20I captaincy after leading the T20 World Cup. However, the team could not perform well and failed to reach the knockout games. Apart from Virat Kohli, this will also be the last match for Ravi Shastri as head coach. Rohit Sharma is set to become the new T20 captain.

Virat Kohli's Captaincy Record

Virat Kohli has not won a single ICC trophy as a captain, while he has struggled to win the IPL trophy as well. However, his record in T20Is as a captain is one of the best in the world. Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, Team India has played 49 T20 matches so far. They have won 29 games, lost 16, while four of them have yielded no result. As a captain, Virat Kohli scored the most T20I runs for India, 1489 runs. He is also India's second most successful T20I captain after MS Dhoni with 42 wins.

Virat Kohli scored 1000 T20I runs in just 30 innings as captain, which is the fastest in the world. He is also the only Indian captain to have defeated every army country in his backyard in T20Is. India won 5–0 in New Zealand, while England, Australia and South Africa had a 2–1 margin. There has been a lot of debate on Virat's team selection, favoritism and his antics on the field. But, if statistics are to be considered, he has been one of the best captains India has ever produced.
