PV Sindhu to participate in BWF Athlete's Commission Election
Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will be taking part in BWF Athelte's Commission in December.

India’s two-time Olympic medallist P V Sindhu will be taking part in the BWF Athletes’ Commission election to be conducted during the World Championships in Spain on December 17. World champion Sindhu is currently playing at the Indonesia Open Super 1000 event in Bali. She is one of the nine candidates nominated for the available six positions.
In a release, Indonesia Open Super 1000 event's governing body said, “The elections for the Athletes’ Commission (2021- 2025) will take place on Friday 17 December 2021 alongside the TotalEnergies BWF World Champion ships 2021, Huelva, Spain." It added that currently Sindhu is the only member of Athletes’ Commission who is standing for re-election. It was in 2017 that she was first elected and she is one of six women representatives who are running this cycle.
Indonesia’s women’s doubles player Greysia Polii, who won the gold medal at Tokyo Olympics and world champion Sindhu will be joining hands together. To this, Polii said that she would like to assist her fellow players to achieve their dreams and help them out with their requests around competing on the international circuit.
As reported by PTI news, "besides the list of other nominated players includes names of Adam Hall of Scotland, Egypt’s Hadia Hosny, Iris Wang of USA, Korea’s Kim Soyeong, Netherland’s Robin Tabeling, Soraya Aghaeihajiagha of Iran and China’s Zheng Si Wei."
